Simran Kaur Mundi was crowned Pantaloons Femina Miss India Universe 2008 in Mumbai on 5th April 2008. She is a 22-year-old graduate from Mumbai who works with a cinema chain there. Her hobbies include: Listening to music, reading, writing poems, sketching and playing basketball.

She was crowned by the reigning Miss India Universe 2007, Puja Gupta in the glittering function held at the Andheri Sports Complex here on Saturday night of 5th April, 2008.

Pavarthy Omanakuttan was born in Kottayam, Kerala but now lives in Mumbai. She is an athletic model. Her hobbies include: listening to music, dancing, glass painting, reading and playing basketball & badminton.

Her name is often misspelled as Pavarthi Omanakuttan or Parvati Omanakuttan. She was crowned Pantaloons Femina Miss India World 2008 in Mumbai on 5th April 2008.

A few weeks earlier at a star-studded ceremony at the Hyderabad International Convention Centre, amidst bated breath and throbbing hearts, Parvathy Omanakuttan was crowned the first ever Pantaloons Femina Miss India South 2008.

Winning the PFMIS 2008 contest got her direct entry in the top 10 finalists of the Pantaloons Femina Miss India 2008. During the Questions & Answers round of the contest, she was asked about the rate of divorce in India, whether the reason for the rise was due to western cultural influences and the following answer won her the judges vote:

"Divorces are not a result of western influence. At the end of the day, it is we who decide whose worth us. Marriage is not when one completes the other but is when both share their completeness."

As always, there are three winners selected in the final round of the Miss India 2008 Pageant. However, only one person is actually given Miss India Award and the other two finalists who are regarded as the first and second runner ups. 1. Femina Miss India World - Parvathy Omanakuttan:

Parvathy emerged a winner after competing with 29 other contestants. These are the exact owrds that she used to express her desire:

"It is a great feeling and is something that is beyond
expression. I would say there is no better high than seeing your dreams turn into reality. I always had confidence in myself and my parents have always taught me that when you do something it should be done with your whole heart. I certainly am looking forward to make a mark in Bollywood and it has always been
my dream, so if I get a good chance then why not."

2. Femina Miss India Universe - Simran Kaur Mundi:

Simran was elated to win the Miss India Universe 2008 title and this is what Simran said after winning the crown:

"I am excited after winning the crown. I have to live up to many expectations which will be a task in itself. But I think that we are all confident and that is why we are standing here right now. My philosophy in life is to live each day as it comes. So, I just want to concentrate on the Miss Universe title as of now which I am looking to bring back the crown."







3. Femina Miss India Earth - Harshita Saxena:

Harshita is the lady in white in the Miss India 2008 winners picture. The winner of Miss India Earth -- Harshita Saxena could not hold back her joy and said:

"I thought it was a dream when my name was taken. I
wanted to pinch myself honestly. It took me a while to believe that I am actually living my moment. This means the world to me and I have never been so excited in my life. I have always dreamt for this. The girls who did not make the cut should not give up no matter what. Because there are many of them who do not win but go on to achieve much more. So, they should not feel dejected."

When asked about her Bollywood dreams, Harshita instantly responded, "If Bollywood comes by my way, I will definitely grab the opportunity."
